American Riviera

We've added Santa Barbara to our list of 'must return to' places.

Actually, most of the places we've been visiting are 'should return' in any case. Beckham Ramsay Malibu

So its time to start making the new lists for the next visit.

As we travelled back towards Los Angeles, we passed Malibu where the the Beckhams and the Ramsays are staying and even spotted a couple of people setting up a video camera outside the Beckhams' place (which they have rented from Steve Spielberg).

I can understand Malibu as a location for surf and access to L.A. but somehow preferred the guaranteed sunshine and variety of amenities in Santa Barbara.

Santa Barbara is Beautiful and laid-back, and small, in comparison to L.A. It has a much more stess-free "feel" doesn't it?
Malibu is a whole other kettle of fish--but depending on what part of Malibu, it can be idylic, too...!

Did you get to Ojai and The Ranch House? When you go back to that area---The Ranch House is a MUST!!!

Beautiful picture, my dear....!

Nikki-ann: Yes, there's plenty to recommend a West Coast US visit.
OldOldLady Of The Hills: Santa Barbara can certainly be laid back, although the bustle of the Fiesta meant the central area was very lively. We didn't manage to visit Ojai on this trip - although it does give us an excuse for a return visit!
