my walk in London is disrupted
Another disruption today, in Central London.
I'd just come out of a meeting and back into the street, when I noticed it had changed somewhat since the time I'd gone in.
There were new barriers everywhere and a noticeable police presence. That's when the marching band appeared from behind one of the major monuments.
Then I noticed the sawdust on the ground just as the clop of hooves denoted the presence of the Household Cavalry.
Of course, if the Household Cavalry were out in all their finery, then you could be sure that someone significant wouldn't be far behind.
I spotted the shiny coach being pulled by white horses. And then I noticed the crown.
Yes, it was the Queen passing by, on her way to the Royal Opening of Parliament.

Blimey, a lot of fuss to get one woman from one place to another! Hehe. Bet the tourists loved it.
I suppose there are worse reasons for being held up. It might make a good excuse for lateness to the next meeting. Some good shots - you must have been well-positioned.

How Amazing!! Love your pictures of this 'happening'....And there she is---The Queen, herself! I guess you never know who you might run into in London...!
Nikki-ann There were a few more horses and coaches and as well as the inevitable selection of MPs.
Debra I literally came out of a building into the middle of it. Astonishingly, I wandered along to Downing Street where there was less crowd that any normal day.
Naomi It's going to be quite busy fir the next couple of months what with Jubilee and Olympics. Actually, I think I'm with some Royals again on Friday ;-)
At least the Queen has some class and dignity, which is more than we can say for most of the leaders in our country..not that she's really a leader or anything..but still...
